Mastered in itunes

Anyone able to tell me about this? Is this hiDef versions of music ? Just bought an Apple TV and iPad . With a sonos beam coming next month. I’ve got some hiDef stuff from years previous through 7 digital and hdtracks. Seen a few I’d be interested in if they are of high quality.

Mastered for iTunes is essentially a standard which prevents ISPs (distortion due to clipping). It doesn't really have anything to do with the quality of the file. Most mastering engineers don't adhere to it anyway judging by the clipping on almost everything modern on streaming platforms.

In what sense? There isn't normally 2 versions available, (one which is and isn't mastered for itunes). As I say, it doesn't really have anything to do with hi-def music.
