Sounds like you've had too many brainwashing lectures of late mate, don't underestimate the unsleepingness of the human spirit! someone other than brainwashed college boys may reply yet! :D

The vocals are awful, and they prevent me from listening to the rest of the music.

And i'll have to sit through them playing just to see Tool :/

The vocals vary throughout the album though, have a listen to Colony Of Birchmen.

People seem to get so hung up on vocal style,if the songs are as well structured and interesting to listen to as they are on this album, then I can live with just about any vocal style, the drumming alone is worth the cd asking price.

It's the sort of music that has to be listened to closely, headphones on,lyric sheet to hand, glass of red!:D your're efforts are rewarded with an epic rollercoaster of a journey!

Trouble is I keep spilling the red! it's those involuntary spasms of air drumming!:D

It's difficult to name a favourite track or tracks for me,each listen seems to reveal something new,the opening 3 tracks are certainly very strong, sleeping giant being one of my faves too.

The air drumming always seems to kick in during 'colony of Birchmen',dunno why, maybe it's the simplest song rythmically and appeals to my bludgeoning, caveman like understanding of rythm! :D

The new album isn't bad, but not as good as either Remission or Leviathan in my opinion.

I haven't checked the earlier albums out tbh,but I'll certainly be putting that right when I get the chance.Which would you rate most highly of the previous releases?
