Matched pairs

Hello all, I want to change from AMD (socket 939) to Intel (E6300) setup and have always had matched memory pairs. As I have never built an Intel system yet I would like to know if it is important to have matched pairs on an Intel set-up.
I was toying with getting crucial 10th Anniversary but as 2 x 1GB single, would this run ok as dual channel.

hmmm i allways buy my ram in pairs so there isnt a problem. in theory aslong as both sticks are same brand design and spec they should work together. but thats atheory lol not tried

I have never chanced it either but I wonder if it makes any difference.
