Matching speakers with av receivers/amplifiers

I've tried to Google this but every page just spins out of control with too much jargon.

If I buy an AV receiver: 165 x 7 (6 ohms)
With speakers: Impedance (ohms): 8, Power Rating (Watts): 75

Is that a good match or is the power too much/too little for the speakers?

That would be fine. You want more power available for things like spikes from big sounds, but the speaker won't constantly be using 75W, that's more like an absolute maximum power rating. Gives good headroom for any upgrades later down the line.

It should be fine, I have closely thesame spec as listed and havent had any sound or power issue.

i find speakers perform differently at different volumes...therefore while the speakers need somewhat matching to amp....they need matching to the room size/distance from speakers more...
