matching Xeon with RAM

hi guys,

please need some advice, is it ok to use DDR3-1866 RAM with Xeon E5-2630 V2 15MB 1600?
am i loosing something knowing the CPU use memory up to 1600 only?

There's no harm in using memory that's rated at a higher speed that you actually need.

If the memory is rated for higher frequencies, it will just cap at what the cpu/motherboard can do and preload this profile from the SPD.
