Mate needs a BF3 capable RIG for £520

Another spec me thread....well as the title says really my mate is looking for a capable rig for playing BF3 ffor the £520 mark would stretch to £600 if its much of a difference.

+1 Why buy 5-6 months in advance? Definitely wait if he/she is only interested in BF3. By this time, hopefully, we'll see Bulldozer out and see how it performs against Sandybridge.

Guys, I'm sure if he is posting this now he wants the computer now/soon. I am the same, I bought my computer with BF3 in mind as what I would like to be able to play it but I wanted it now.
I tried to spec something myself but best I could think of was a 2500k with a 5850. Not sure if that will cut it.

Thought I would leave it up to Stulid anyway.

I'm sure someone will be along to spec. you shortly (as best they can given the budget).

Two things, however:

1) You want dual channel RAM for Sandybridge not triple channel

2) I don't think an HD 6790 is going to get you very far

I've got a Q8300 (pretty close to a Q6600) and i'm going to upgrade to a i5 2500k before (or just after) BF3's release!

Don't see why not. Quad core is good. The graphics card will be the bottleneck. Wait till the game is released.
