There is what I can best describe as a self adhesive rubber mat under my kitchen sink that is peeling away. what is this called and can it be preferably replaced, if not repaired?

I think he means on the under side of the kitchen sink. I have no idea what they are for tho!

Sound deadening, adds mass. Stops the metal 'ringing'...
Acoustimat, dynamat etc all work just as well as the original stuff.

Remember the Abestos thing, its a 'classic' one, every asbestos survey will sample it and its on every asbestos awareness course.

Technically it could contain it if it was made prior to the year 2000, but if its from the 1990s then it is probably unlikely, before then, there was a reasonable chance it would

I am talking about the black material underneath the sink when you look in the cupboard, not at the bottom of the usable sink.

The sink was put in not too long ago, so asbestos shouldn't be a concern.

I don't know why the material is already coming away. If I were to glue back what is there, what glue would I use or doesn't it matter too much?
