Anyone here know about Maternity pay?

My partner has just been told she will not receive SMP (Statutory Maternity pay)

She works part time but still takes home over £400 a month, she working in a pre school. Apparently she is £2.70 off the required weekly pay.
Due to the fact that they dont get paid for the school holidays AND they calculated her average pay using the holidays (so it makes her average less)

We are looking into our options.

Anyone else have experance in this?

Nice site. Thanks.

It seems her employer has taken into account 1 sick day she had during the period of time they work out average pay. This takes her down below the amount required. Arshats.

It's ok, you (she) will should get the equivalent from the Gov't in another form. It's called Maternity Allowance or something, basically maternity pay for those who don't work or don't work enough hours.
