One of my mates was woken up at 4am this morning to the sound of his miltek exhausts and Audi RS4 leaving his driveway.
The thieves had actually removed the ENTIRE front window of his house to gain entrance and fortunately the keys were downstairs. The window was a full uPVC glazed window and he lives on a reasonably busy main road so how they did it without being noticed I do not know!
He was asleep with his wife and young son while they broke in, but with the warm weather the window was open so the sound of it being started up woke him. Like I say, lucky the keys were downstairs or I expect he would have had a rather ruder awakening and worse time of it.
A 999 call to the police saw it being recovered 15 minutes later thanks to the tracker that was fitted, a patrol car and the police helicopter that was already in the air after another call. 3 arrests later and the car was returned today.
Sadly, he is going to sell the car as his wife is understandably shaken by the whole event. They also got the keys to her A4 Estate but didn't take it, not quite sure why. He had been on holiday for a week and just returned that night so perhaps they thought they had more time to pop back to get that.
Anyway, be careful out there folks and don't have nightmares.
