maths question from a simpleton... percentages.

Im sure this is basic GCSE level stuff but im 25 and my brain has been fried with drugs and alcohol over the years...

if i have £8000 and i want to work out what percentage say £5467 is of that £8000 whats the calculation i use?

(i realize im probably going to kick myself when i see it as my synapses will dust themselves off and remember some maths lesson from a decade ago.)

Do 5467 divided by 8000. You will then get a decimal like 0.683375 that means 68.3375%.

meh, you wouldn't want it anyway, 9K a year for a 32 hour week... (although thats rising the 14K in 3 months and 18K in 12 months.)
