y= 2-1/x
y=0
0=2-1/x
1/x=2
x=2
however its says that x= 1/2 and y=0

You've done the second last step wrong, it should be

1 = 2x
1/2 = x

question.
0=2-1/2
can i flip the fraction or do i need to flip both?
so 0=2+2/1
one more
lets say
0=2-1/2
1/2=2 do i flip both?
-2/1=-1/2 ?
