If the answer to a question is yes or no and you ask 25 people. How many combinations of answers are possible?
Thanks,
G
2^25
It depends whether you count each individual's response as a variable or whether you simply add up the total yes's and no's.
I added them up to give totals etc..
Exactly - I was just explaining why there were two answers.
Yeah, I knowI actually didn't think of the other one so I was basically stating my moronity!
Your answer is just as valid, I think. Depends whether you treat each answer individually, or are just interested in totting up the number of yeses and nos. In the latter case, the answer is 26, as you said.
I mean like it could be:
So there are how many possible different combinations.... I figured it was 25 to the power of 2 which is 625, but then I thought actually it would be 2 to the power of 25 which is 33554432 so it must be that. As in you could write the list 33,554,432 different ways without repeating the same list twice.
