matiz warning light

Hi,

We will get the car looked at but any initial ideas?

54 matiz.

Engine warning light came on.

Stopped and checked around, hasn't leaked any coolant, doesen't use any oil. Thermostat stays in the middle.

I did notice that the coolant tank was very bubbly with the engine running

Water pump maybe?

For the love of all that's holy, please do not buy a Matiz. Let alone one with an EML!

I don't know what your budget is but whatever it is, you can do better than a Matiz

Sounds like he's already got one matey!

As for the OP, I doubt it's the water pump if the temperature is ok i.e. in the middle....

An engine warning light could mean any number of things, have you read the handbook?

Could be ant of a vast number of problems. Start by getting the fault codes read.

If I am interpreting the question correctly, It is the Engine management Light that has come on.

This means that the engine management has detected a fault, a scan via the obd socket will not necessarily tell you exactly what is wrong, but you should have a scan before taking any other action.

Ideally, get it scanned with a tool that can access ALL the possible fault codes. Many of the cheap e-bay/Halfords/etc "OBD Scan tools" will not access the manufacturer specific codes

Yep, get it to your nearest reputable garage and get the codes read. Not much more you'll be able to do at this point.
