Matrix Online...

Is it any good...currently playing WoW...but want something else to play when I need a warcraft break.

Have previously played SWG...kinda liked it, Planetside....loved it and Eve...bored me to hell!

I loved the Matrix movies, but after playing Enter The Matrix I gave MO a wide berth, know i'm finding i'd like to give it a try and for $20 on D2D, i wonder if it's worth it!

It's had a combat upgrade recently but the boring missions are still there and there's a lack of events at the moment. I'm keeping an eye on the game though as they're meant to be doing content now that the CR2.0 has been released.

Not bothered about a grind and boring missions, WoW has a fair few of them tbh...any other drawbacks?

....its owned by SOE and seems to have gotten the same treatment as SWG by the sounds of it surely thats reason enough not to touch it, though i admit, planetside seems fairly fun

most likely, dont play MxO though so cant say, but someone above did mention a "combat upgrade" which can only mean bad things with SOE

Actually the "combat upgrade" was half-way finished by Monolith before WB sold SOE the rights and their developers have just completed the work.

It's strange but looking at the MxO forums they seem to pay a lot more attention to the customer than the SWG forums/devs, probably due to fewer subscribers.

I paid £3 for my brand spanking new copy ages ago! Normally for that price i wouldnt care if its was the biggest pile of ass ive ever played as long as i got at least an hour out of it.

Think i played for 6 hours, totally stupid and confusing. Then it was taken over by Sony and i couldnt get the subscription section to work but luckily it auto cancelled anyway!

I want my £3 back

I started playing this again recently - I find it very good, but make sure you join the PvP server for the full experiance!

The combat upgrade is a good improvement and the 1 year anniversery event was pretty cool.

Give it the months trial its well worth it - the missions do get to be a bit of a grind but its got a pretty good matrix atmosphere.

Matrix Online... is CRAP, dont waist your money.

Edit:

Althought I only played it through beta and for a month when it came out, total waist of a great licence.

No the storyline was developed way in advance and Laurance Fishbourne(sp?) recorded the dialogue long before the game was released - people managed to watch the Cinematics in beta and found out Morpheus was gonna die.
