A mate of mine wants to have three or four screens running off his laptop (with each screen being an extension of the desktop, so he can run and monitor a number of different applications at the same time).

I told him to have a look at Matrox TripleHead2Go because it supposedly lets you run three monitors off the one output, and thus gives you a much bigger desktop.

I've not used these myself, I've only seen videos on YouTube of people running them for things like MS Flight Simulator, so I'm not sure what they are like for general Windows usage, especially off a laptop.

Has anyone here used one of these, and if so do you know if they are any good?

... note, this is purely for work/business, and nothing to do with games.

if you want to run three high-res screens (1680x1050 max) you'll need to connect the triplehead2go to a dual-link DVI port, VGA/D-SUB ports don't have enough bandwidth.

the thing is, the TH2G makes all the screens you connect to it one big screen, which means maximised windows will stretch across all three screens & suchlike, which is great for games, but much less usefull for actual work :p
