Mats to protect the grass

The grass is knacked under the kids saying m swing I am going to seed it but think aome kind of protection is required, any recommendations?

If it’s a long term solution you need, get them matts to grow grass through

Unless you go for something like the above, wouldn't any solid matts just kill the grass anyway, through lack of daylight/moisture etc.

yes, and it doesn't take long either. Quick to die-off, slow to grow back.
