as title says, tried the Abit F190-HD and well it was garbage, faulty on startup and well not taking my chance getting another, but any other boards?, intel chipset please, 4ddr2 slots..., will be running 8800GTX passive with HR-03 in Sugo SG03 so need PCI-Ex16 as 2nd slot...

Oh and it was my idea first, if you see anyone else trying it, well you know where they got it from...

Well, there's the Asrock Conroe 945G-DVI, with an overclocking "wall" of 300FSB.

The F-I90HD gets closer to 350FSB.

And the Gigabyte G33M gets well over 400FSB.

I'd take another look at the F-I90HD, as I have one, and it's a ******* brilliant board! I can't fault it at all. Solid, stable, and gives a nice little overclock.

So what if the one you had didn't work peoperly? RMAs DO happen, that's why companies offer an RMA service. Ditching a board because you got a faulty one is a very silly thing to do. :)

Search for that board on the search engines, and you will see the amount of problems it has, just don't want the hassle of buying it and testing it, and finding it faulty after a week or so, will only do it if the stores give me £500 if the board dies within it's warranty period.... not worth my time at all. Good luck wiht oyur board, hope it lasts at least 6 months...

Wait, you will have a single GTX in there? Why, then, does the form of any other slots matter if they'll be unoccupied?

need top slot free for GPU heatsink, and third/fourth slot will be used for sound card...

Then why do you need two 16x slots if one is going to be rendered unusable by the GPU cooler? Why not have one 16x slot?

I think your missing the point, I only need one 16X slot, refer to orinigal post, and it has to be the 2nd slot...

do you mean a board like this? :)

Foxconn G33M

if so you will have to wait as its not out yet

That's the one thanks, looked at Intel, Asus Gigabyte G33 chipset boards and none seem to have the slot as 2nd one, but have all other features, will check this board out, thanks, any others you can find?..

OK quick update, the baord does not have RAID, need RAID, so ICH9R as southbridge not ICH9
