Looking to upgrade to Z97 from Z87, used only for Gaming, mainly Borderlands/Warframe/Crysis etc

YOUR BASKET
1 x Samsung 256GB SSD 850 PRO SATA 6Gbps 3D NAND (MZ-7KE256BW) £159.95
1 x MSI Z97M Gaming Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £109.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060009-WW) £88.00
1 x Corsair RM Series RM 650 '80+ Gold' 650W Power Supply (CP-9020054-UK) £79.99
1 x Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 High Airflow PC Case - White (CC-9011069-WW) £69.95
2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm Focused Flow PWM Cooling Fan £15.98 (£31.96)
Total : £549.44 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Parts I will be keeping are

i5-4670k
8gb Corsair Vengeance
MSI R9 270x
OCZ Agility 3 240gb (Steam)
I also have the Corsair Generation 2 sleeved cabled kit which I can use with the RM PSU

I was either looking at getting another MSI R9 270x and running in crossfire or purchase a single R9 270x 4gb

Will I run into any driver issues with Crossfire?

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming Edition OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £169.99
Total : £179.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Lastly, I'm looking for a bigger screen (currently XL2411t), been very happy with this but the BenQ 27" version is too much, is this Iiyama of comparable quality?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Iiyama Prolite GB2773HS-GB1 144Hz 27" Widescreen LED 1MS Monitor - Black £209.99
Total : £219.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

YOUR BASKET
1 x Powercolor Radeon R9 280 TurboDUO 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £149.99
1 x Corsair Neutron GTX Series 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CSSD-N240GBGTXB-BK) £119.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97MX-Gaming 5 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £111.95
1 x Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060016-WW ) £89.99
1 x Seasonic M12II EVO Edition 850W '80 Plus Bronze' Fully Modular Power Supply £79.99
Total : £566.00 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Swapped some bits around,

H105 is instock, fits the case still but has a thicker radiator than the H100i so performs a tad better.

R9 280 is cheaper and faster than the 270X in either 2Gb or 4GB versions.

Gigabyte board has a 4 year warranty.

Have you thought about the colours much? white case, black+red board/card, brown Noctua fans etc.

It wouldn't bother me if the colours were pink, purple and orange as long as I get the cooling performance I expect

Why would you choose the Corsair Neutron over the Samsung, bench tests show the Samsung out performs the Neutron in every category?

Similarly with the Seasonic PSU, why choose a bronze over a gold for the same price?

I've been using OC Genie with MSI boards since 2009, why should I change to Gigabyte (extra years warranty does not really apply to me as I usually upgrade after 1 year)?

Look at the massive price difference between the two SSDs, it's simply not worth it - you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in general usage anyway

The seasonic is more powerful and able to run a pair of cards.

I have a NeutronGTX and its seriously rapid and £40 less.

So if you sell your board and a buyer asks "how long is left on the warranty" which do you think he would prefer? 2 or 3 years remaining?
