I have a couple of old MATX mobos, which i want to setup in some really small cases with only a 2.5" HDD... any cases in the same sort of vein as the ITX cases ???

I cant find many smaller than the Aria, X-Qpack et al :(

There aren't any really - the foorprint of the motherboard dictates the basic size of the PC around it. There are 2 sizes of mATX motherboards - the 9.6"x9.6" that is the most common one now, and the 9.6" x 8" that used to be common. You can get HTPC cases that are only 1.5U or 2U tall, but they still have the same square footprint.

"Tiny"- look at some of the HTPC Silverstones, half height and with non standard PSU. However forget about adding any expansion cards without a riser, or fitting a standard ATX PSU.

Are you talking about total volume, or floorspace used? ie my SS TJ-08 is quite large overall, but it takes up less floorspace than a Q-Pack.

Personally I would get a large MATX case, and at least fitting things doesn't involve getting 5 year old's hands. Really looking at Q-Pack, Aria, Sugo, TJ08 really as standard size with enough room for fittings/CPU fan/standard parts/expansion.

I've got an Aria with an old P4 setup in it and space is pretty tight in there already, can't imagine your going to get a huge amount smaller, you'd definately have to go with a low profile case and this seriously restricts your upgrade options

Chainsaws + MATX motherboard + Lian Li PC402a = fit! :)

A hack saw is plenty enough to remove the door.

Although i was forgetting the PC402a is a mini ITX and will take a maximum mobo size of 7.5" x 9"
