Hi setting up a new trunas MAtx case, I am not bothered by looks as it will be in a cupboard in a spare bedroom. It will need to hold 4 hdd’s and one ssd minimum and have good cooling. Any recommendations?
Thanks

Those little fans look noisy. Where the other two drives gonna fit? It says it can take 7 3.5in drives, with 5 hotswappable (which sounds ideal for a raid z2 build with the OS and cache drives inside and 5 drives in hotswap bays).

Right now I have my 4 drives sitting in this ANCIENT antec media pc case that I think has the worst layout I can imagine. It is quiet though so I don't want a loud case buzzing away under my desk.

I've got an old rig in an og sg01 which that silverstone is based on, the stock 80mm fans aren't actually that loud but you can get quieter ones easy enough.

There will be 2x3.5 inch, horizontal and rotated 90 degrees, under the 5 bay hotswap and the 2.5 is basically on the side of the case (top left from front) besides the gpu if there is one.

The PSU sits right above the cpu and in my case I used the nt06 to cool my cpu (s939 opteron 175) where the psu fan was the cpu cooler (not great if the psu turns the fan off though). I will say this case will not be fun to cable manage.

To be fair for the OP's purpose of just 4x3.5 and 1x2.5 ssd they should be able pick any (smaller) case that supports matx and fits that many drives, although a quick look on ocuk seems to show that's a bit harder to find than it should be.

If I was to go with silverstone cases (and I've been happy with mine) I'd probably be looking more at cs380 or cs381 (check hard drive connectors)
