Can this be done.
I have a Gigabyte F22A88XM D3H with a A10 5800K and also have a XFX TS430 PSU.

Was hoping to be able to stuff it all in this case or something smaller.
Anyone done this already?

Not going to be doing anything too taxing so heat shouldn't be a problem.

Mini-ITX is 170x170mm. The Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H is 244x244mm (micro-ATX). The Raijintek Metis is 190x254x277mm. I have the Raidmax Atomic case (which is a complete copy-cat of the Metis), and even Mini-ITX is a tight fit.

Ok, if you remove the PSU (and its tray), there is a 3cm+1cm THEORETICAL clearance in the case (277-244=33mm || 254-244=10mm). BUT, unfortunately:
1) There are no screw holes for microATX boards, so you would have to "make your own", or only use the mini-ITX ones
2) There would be metal protruding towards the board on the left side of the support plate, which would touch the solder studs on the back of the motherboard, causing a short circuit, possibly even bending the board -- so you would need longer (and stronger) riser screws to avoid this, or cut out the protruding part
3) But most importantly, the 254mm is the overall height of the case (feet included), not the interior available space

Sorry, but there is NO way you can fit a micro-ATX in there.

Yeah, the Metis is quite good if you want a full PSU, an option for GPU and a good clearance for the CPU cooler. These were the criteria I had when I was building my rig, and the Raidmax Atomic (and Metis) is perfect for that. On hindsight, though, I should have first opted for a smaller case with picoPSU, as I will be solely using the APU for a year or two, still.

I'm actually currently contemplating on getting a custom-sized wooden case, and going with a picoPSU.

But, if I were building from scratch, I would currently instead opt for the Zotac ZBOX Magnus EN970, which was released few months ago, and is very small (203x52.5x210mm == 2,24 liters, whereas Metis is 13,4 liters). The upgradeability is very limited, though. (only the WiFi/BT-card, RAM and HDD can be changed)

Fed up now of looking for small matx cases.
Even mitx cases aren't small unless you get one with a pico psu.

Yes, I so so agree about the mATX cases... The SG05 is a good size, but that is mITX & it is sad the ******** SG01 is just to big... Why ddn't they just have it the same height as the sg05??? All but 1 of the ISK cases for nITXs are plenty small...

Well the Gigabyte GZ-MA01 case can be had for £13 atm - granted that's the version with no usb 3.0 but still...its 172 x 365 x 368 which is pretty small really.

I just wanted a case that doesn't have all the hard drive bays etc as I have no need for them, I will be wedging a 240GB SSD in somewhere.
TBH the SG09 is pretty nice but £60, sadly not in budget for me.
