Hi all I'm looking to build a HTPC in MATX form. I am after reccomendations for the best value HDMI capable motherboard. I will only be using this rig for browsing and blu ray (not gaming) so please bear this in mind

I believe the AMD integrated graphics are a lot more "capable" in the power department than their Intel counterparts. I know you said NO GAMING but you're covered in the event you wanted to dabble, and also I think the AMD board would hold it's value better as a result as well.

That's where i'd be putting my money. :)

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate what your saying about the AMD board and it does seem better value But are these the best value options for what I am looking for ? ? ? I mean that intel board is over £100 add this to the cost of all other components and I,m looking at quite an expensive browsing/bluray machine arent I

Well the AMD 780G boards with HDMI can be had between £50-£60 if you shop around.

a decent 4850e can be had for £40-60.

Fairly cheap, its the best value way I think.

780G mobo and a 4850e is deffo the best value combo out there.

Mine chucks out 1080p video all day using the on board HDMI and only at around 20% CPU usage due to the on-board decoding of the ATI3200 chip on the mobo.
