Hi, looking to get a mATX motherboard for my main PC ready for when i make the move to a nice small case. I will be doing very little/no overclocking and only other things i need is at least 2 SATA II ports, onboard sound (and maybe grahphics could be useful at some point) and PCI-E x16.
Budget isn't really a problem as most mATX mobos are fairly cheep anyway.

I've been having a look at the Asus A8N-VM CSM and it seems to have everything i need and for a nice price aswell :)
Any good/bad points for this one? Choose Asus as have had good experiences with them and one of the major things i want is reliability.

And help/thoughts much appreciated

Had a look at a fair few reviews and all looks good. Only downside they come up with is no voltage options for RAM, does anyone know if this is fixed in a later bios update?

Also any reason to pick a different nVidia 6100 or 6150 board?
thanks

Looks like a very impressive board. I'm quite interested in getting a mATX board for my venice but I'd really like some overclocking options, come across any boards you think are suitable. As you say increasing vdimm is quite a nice feature even for a normal board.

Biostar TForce6100 in either socket 754 flavour or socket 939 version. Both boards clock like hell, run very stable and they support all the latest cpus for their sockets. Also damn cheap at £44 and £46inc vat for the mobos. Have them both and they run very well.

The 6150 is the better chipset to go for as it is capable of HDTV rather than just the SDTV when using the 6100

I'm using a MSI K8NGM2-FID with component video out and SPDIF to a (at present!) SDTV with great success - although it seems that this board is now as rare as hen's teeth :)

DONT get foxconn! my one came faulty! lol

mine didn't, in fact it's currently running an X2 3800 overclocked at 2.4Ghz and makes a fine job as a games machine.

6150 graphics not quite up to the latest games though so have added pcie card.

i have had no trouble with the board and am very impressed with it's specs for the price, would happily recommend this board. it clocks well, and is feature rich.

Have heard good things about all the nf 61x0 board with little to choose between them apart from a few small feature changes and overclocking options. As i wont be overclocking on this one and have had very good experiences with Asus in the past i'm going for that. Looks to be a very good base for a "media" PC.
