Max 24/7 temp E6300

I've managed to get my E6300 to 2.8GHz (yey), but its reading about 60c in Core Temp when being abused by GO-SP2004 (Small FFTs).
Speed fan says 50c (sometimes 51), and I am wondering if its safe to run at these temps 24/7?

also, what 120mm casefan? noise isn't so much an issue (not deltas, but I've been using a Sanyo Denki 120mm on another system

I doubt you will be benching 24/7 so the CPU wont be 100% loaded on both cores 24/7 therefore the temp wont reach 60c constantly while doing 'normal' tasking..

why the **** are you not running Folding@Home for the team?

Back on topic;

AFAIK that 60C is quite high. If you have a stock cooler shame on you, but it is understandable, else something is wrong with your setup.

I managed to drop it down to high 50s running the CPU torture test from that SP2004 prog
I may swap over some fans so a higher CFM fan is on the cooler (orig one was broken on arrival)

so what 120 mm fan to get? was thinking of the high CFM scythe s-flex

I'm interested in that too, I have a Zalman CNPS9500-AM2 (AM2 :eek:

) and it comes with a 92mm fan as stock, but it can be modded to take a 120mm fan, I'm tempted by this. Also wondering what 92mm fan would be good.

2.8GHz is nothing for a C2D so I don't get why it's so hot...unless everyone on here that has one runs theirs on vapo...

I've got it up to 3.1ghz atm, its slightly cooler too

hey sorry for thread hijack but i have my E6300 at 3.1ghz and using TAT my cpu gets to 65*C at full load is this ok?

tbh, what reading you taking that from? mines at 3.15GHz atm and Speedfan reads it as 43 under 100% load (folding@Home, SP reads higher) but the core temp prog reads it at 59-60c under 100% SP small FFT

u know, intel thermal analysis tool, it reads the core temp of the cpu, using speedfan i get like 50 full load
