Max ADSL download speed

I've not been on ipstream/max for a good while now, but I know when I was with ADSL24 (Enta) I got an average of about 820KB/sec with an 8128 sync. Have you removed the ring wire from your master socket? Tried from the test socket BEHIND the lower half of the master socket? Wifi or ethernet?
 
Can you post up your stats? TBH though if you're synced at 8128 and still not seeing full speeds (not far off though, to be fair!) it could just be internal wiring, or the ISP. I know Enta went downhill central wise at the end of last year. I don't know how they're faring lately though. Personally I'd put it down to contention/congestion and look at switching ISP if I knew my wiring was OK.
 
I'm on an 8meg sync, download is 650-700kb/s (this is 24/7 with no slow downs though), my stats are pretty much perfect etc and I've checked out everything with my isp.
I can't get any faster because of the exchange or the quality of the line I'm on.

Theres so many things that can cause your download speeds to be slower its pretty hard to diagnose in some cases. The small loss you have could be mtu related, it could be quality of line, congestion on the exchange, isp issues, the server youre downloading from, Vista :), you name it theres a potential for issues.

I personally feel that if you're within 90% of your potential speed then you should be fairly happy which you look to be for a 7.2 then I wouldn't worry.
