Max Committed Memory?

My knowledge of memory is woeful so I apologise in advance.

Noticed whilst gaming last night that system memory useage was fairly high, like around 7 out of the 8gb available, but system committed memory was maxed out at 9GB.

What does that mean?

Do I need more RAM?

wow that is high i would have a look to see what is running in the backround my laptop isonly using 37% and that is with stronghold kingdoms running plus 1 running in sandbox i think a backround operation is choking your system

Ok, I had a feeling something wasn't right. Will check that out later. Was first running Squad which is in Alpha and not properly optimised, but didn't think a game should be using that much tbh.

check task manager in windows to find the offending program\programs that are using up all the ram. You may have a memory leak of something eating up the ram

no it isn't by the looks of it squad has a big memory leak try some other games and see if you get the same result of high memory if not then report the fault to the developers and see if it gets fixed if it happens with other games then run memtest to see of there is any problems with your ram
