max memory DS3 can take

hi all,

whats the maximum memory speed the DS3 motherboard takes. Is it PC2-6400? or can it support PC2-8000? looking to get 1000mhz speed RAM if it can handle it but not sure
 
thing is on gigabytes website it says supported RAM speeds 800/667/533.

I know people overclocked their 800mhz RAM to close to 900 and it can run it. So can it run 1000mhz without problems you think? It doesnt say its supported thats why I'm a bit restrained to spend that amount of money
 
Just means you have to overclock the FSB\CPU to get PC2-8000 speeds, as I understand it you can't just set the ram alone to 1000mhz.

That's nothing for the pc5300 Ballistix. 1100mhz+ is obtainable.

Mine's only sitting at 1.02ghz now because my Q6600 isn't liking more than a 340mhz FSB and the 2:3 divider leaves it at 1.02ghz.
