Max number of monitors on Nvidia Card, my AMD is 3

I have 2, ones Asus Radeon r290x Direct CUII (this is the monitor driver) and a reference 290x with custom cooler. Its in crossfire for gaming so I dont want 2 separate cards.

I am currently running:

DP - Phillips 40" 4k 3820x2160

DVI-D-1 - Dell 30" 3008wfp 2560x1600 (used to be display port but now DVI-D)

DVI-D-2 - DGM 27" IPS screen 2560x1440

HDMI - nothing currently

I wish to connect my old/other 27" IPS screen at 2560x1440 placed above the 40" screen, but that is ONLY DVI-D connection, the DGM screen has HDMI in but I tried that and it wouldnt run at 2560x1440 properly (any idea why?)

Thanks

Darn, its Ivybridge-E so no on board graphics unfort.

So a 3rd AMD card then if I can find room ? Will that do crossfire + 4th monitor ok ?

The DGM monitor is DGM IPS-2701WPH, any ideas of the HDMI spec? trying to find it now

EDIT: Found it can only accept 1440p over its display port and also DVI-D but NOT HDMI :(

Ah i see, i guess the only option is the MST hub for the two displayport cards, they sell them on overclockers.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-017-SR may just need a mini to large adapter too, but i dont know if it comes with one in the box.

handy to have anyway, even if you change cards in future since you can use it to have 6 monitors.

Thanks but it sadly says:

"Supports resolutions up to 2560x1600 on each display"

So no use for my 4k screen :(

It's not top top priority at this stage but right now it looks like at the end of summer im going to have to sell up and go Nvidia which will just work with 4 monitors + they have more than 1 display port so am sorted.
