7970 1200 core 1600 memory

1080p - Highest in game settings for everything except AA which is on 2xaa. Rarely drops below 60 fps with vsync on.

4xaa is too much of a strain for my card though.

Hate how F1 2012 is like 2011...and by that, you get less performance using CF lol(with 1 screen at least)
I done some quick benchmarks last night, 2 cards @1200/1600@1080 = 93fps average.

2 cards @1200/1600@5760 = 95fps average. All settings turned up to 11. Sorry to digress...i dont even own MP3 lol

That's pretty impressive if you can get both cards to 1200 core in xfire.

Couldn't get the cards to clock before, rolled back to 12.6 due to problems with 12.8 betas...now i can. Managed to bench them at 1215/1600 for 3DMark benchmark thread.

Weird, or normal for drivers to mess with OC potential in CF?

Some other guy's overclocks fell over when he updated his drivers although somebody (can't remember who) with AMD blood in the veins was refusing to countenance the possibility that the driver code had regressed and caused instabilities. :D

So it's not unheard of.

Max Payne 3 is quite a resource hog but not that bad. Slightly different scenario but at 5760*1080 with SLI, I am getting average 120fps all settings maxed.

Not sure on that one Tone.

I guess it depends how much gpu utilization you get from the drivers on the gpu.

Freezing problems with the latest Nvidia 306.23 WHQL (Solved! Was not the Drivers!)

So it's not unheard of.

You just don't seem to learn, don't start noting and there will be nothing as there has been no conclusion to that incident as the user had not come back with his finding and it had nothing to do with it being AMD because the brand is irrelevant, its about stable PCs.
And i never said that the driver was not a possibility but its suites you to rewrite history.

Here's another example

Well, I upgraded from the 306.02 Beta yesterday, and have had about 4 -5 freezes. It just freezes on the desktop when surfing or just sitting there.

I have reverted back to the 306.02 Beta, which I've never experienced this behaviour with. So we'll see

Specs in signature. And running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit with all the latest live updates.

Others having similar issues?

Wait just a minute here... Nvidia driver problems? Does not compute  /sarcasm

Well, I haven't tried them yet, so I can't say with certainty, but the last time an Nvidia driver upgrade (304.48 I think) caused freezing/instability, it was because my overclock wasn't as stable as I thought. Are you running those 670's at factory settings?

They are running stock. And it happened on the desktop. No problems so far, after reverting back to the 306.02 Beta again.

So it seems the latest WHQL was causing the freezing bug.
Yep looks like the drivers right, which is right up rusty's alley.

Again some drivers are more sensitive to hardware instabilities than others even when the software that is meant to be sensitive to particular instabilities don't pick it up.

You're not the only person to mention that recently. :D

Nope chipachap said that and then had to admit he had it wrong upon further inspection :D.

Yep and starting up trouble because he can just keep pulling out the " it was banter" when someone replys.

You seem upset Final8y. You've completely dried out what was a bit of fun but OK that's fine. So congratulations on completely ruining that one :(.

But I must commemorate you on posting a load of nVidia driver problems on a thread which hadn't even mentioned nVidia until you posted . I see you have a habit for posting completely off topic.

If you think posting something on a forum is "causing trouble" then you probably need to step away from the PC for a few minutes.

Note to self: don't joke and involve this forum user in the future

Not upset at all as its seem that it was troubling you enough to dwell on the incident to bring it up in this thread, it was not on my mind at all and there is no reason for me to get upset with a stranger on a forum that will have no effect in real life, its just not important.

Oh dear... oh dear...

Back on topic now you've got that one out your system. This thread ain't about nVidia drivers or anything of the like "Mr. Tangent".

Again you have to bring the brand into it, the fact it was NV was nothing to do with it, it was just the latest issue that i had come across that fitted in reference to the jab you made.

Your opinion of trouble and mine differ so no i don't need to step away from the PC based on what you think.
