Today I had the dis pleasure of an advance screening

What a terrible, terrible mess. I really dont have a broad enough vocabulary to convey how bad this film is.

Acting = absent
Story = predictable, done so many times, action plot.
Special Effects = None
Bullet Time = Yawn, seen it all before and executed badly

In summary, if you have to watch this or have your scrotum removed and turned into cat shoes. Well, you choose! Both as much fun.

:(

The story's predictable? really? that's odd, cant think of any reason why it would be.

You haven't played the games have you?

I'm still gonna see it, but I don't have high hopes lol.

Played the games but not fully. I expect a fan of the game may enjoy more but its still a cack film in its own right.

I really wanted this one to be good (and the trailer looks great) but your opinions and those of many critics make it sound real bad

Come on its got Marky Mark and the Funky bunch as the lead character (well maybe not the funky bunch).

How could you conceive this was going be a good film.

Apparently the director said that Marky Mark was the "Only choice for this film and it would not have gone ahead had he not taken the part".

Bit of a shame really.

Actually I'd translate that as "Marky Mark, is the only actor that vaguely fits the bill that we could afford"

Thomas Jane would have played this part much better imo, actually he did, in the Punisher.

What the crap was all this valkyrie guff in the trailers about? Why can't they just make a straight port of the storyline to film, Silent Hill and this would have been epic films if they had done that.

I'm a huge fan of both games and seeing this movie was like peeing glass. Avoid.

I was interested in the movie right up until I found out (on bit-tech) that you don't find out why max is doing what he is doing until half way through the film in a flashback whereas in the game it is shown right at the beginning so you have a clue as to what is going on. For the film to so this shows gross incometance on the part of the writer.

Not seen it yet but despite all the bad reviews, I'm still tempted as I was a huge fan of the games.

Might head out tomorrow and check it out.

Im not going to see it as I dont want it to ruin my fond memories of the games. And as someone else already said I dont understand why they dont just copy the game! Why do they need to mess about with the plot/characters! If they thought the game was worthy of a film adaptation then surely ITS FINE HOW IT IS!

there must be dozens of actors who could and would have filled max's shoes with more flair and panache

guy pearce would have got my vote

I'm going to avoid this. Watching it will just get me frustrated that they couldn't have made it more like the game.

I cant remember any movies of computer games being worth watching.

You have clearly never seen... ummm... <scratches head> let me get back to you on that one!

I'm going to see it as I have a cineworld card so it doesnt really matter if its rubbish or not. Shall maybe post my views later depending on what state of shock it leaves me in :D
