Max speeds for the upto 8mb package?

I just moved to sky mid package last week and all seems dandy so far. Any ideas how closely they monitor the 40gb limit? they didn't even give me a password for the account so i cant log in online.

I'm pretty close to the exchange so the sync speeds are 8mbps.

I just downloaded something of newsdemon newsgroups and got consistently between 900-950k/s

Is this pretty much the max you can get?

Sounds like your connection is on top form to me.

I get 5Mbit out of 16Mbit with my distance from the exchange, but I'm not complaining since I was paying a lot more than £9.99/month for 4Mbit with Virgin and their stupid traffic shaping.

Im actually on 2mb VM and haven't had any problems there either.

Haven't been to london in a while though so don't know how much traffic shaping is going on there.

I meant the Virgin Media cable package, I should have specified.
