Max temp for 4400 (also watercooling questions)

Just curious what the ideal operating temp should be for a 4400 chip. I have it slightly overclocked it the moment to 2.6Ghz and under heavy load for long periods (Over 4 hours) it is maxing out at 51c with stock air cooling (and a couple of case fans).

I havent pushed the OC too far as its a new chip and im too scared (+i need to get some decent cooling) but dont know a lot about this chip or what operating temps it has.

Give it a week and i will be looking to push it further. As i have just spent way to much money on my new rig I will probably stick to air cooling to start with and not clock it up much higher then it is now but eventually i will be looking at water cooling. This is where i come completely unstuck though as i have no experience with this at all.

So if you dont mind answering a few very stupid questions? :)

My concern over water cooling is probably very stupid but i have a big worry about pumping water around my PC. How safe are these units? They dont leak do they?

How much of an improvement can a cheapish watercooling system make over a decent air system (not worried about noise its only cooling power im interested in).

How much would a cheap water cooling system cost. Just looking for CPU as im not going to start pulling my graphics cards apart :)

How easy are they to set up for someone that hasnt used them before (i was an IT engineer so im not completely stupid, just never had chance to play with them before).

Do they require any sort of maintance?

Realise that this should probably be in the overclocking/cooling section but my orginal question was just about the temp's for the chip and the cooling thing was just a long winded after thought :)

Oh one other question what is the highest recommended vcore for these chips? atm it runs anywhere from 1.35 when idle to 1.40 when under full load.

amds are rated at like 70/80 degrees max operating temps, i personally wouldnt let mine go over 50, most people say 60.

Vcore is said 1.5 air, 1.6 water, 1.7+ phase, again personally i wouldnt go above 1.55ish maybe a tad more (for air)

i know nothing about watercooling altho i dont think you have to worry to much about them leaking unless you custom make it altho you should probably always test them for a few hours before installing.

if your wanting a heatsink before you go water you'll hear a lot of shouts for the arctic freezer 64 pro, the thermaltake big typhon, the scythe ninja and the thermalright xp/sl 120, personally the arctic keeps my opty 144 cool as heck and its the cheapest about.

hope this helps!

Thats great thanks :)

Didnt know if the duel cores could take 1.5 like normal cpus so wanted to double check before i fool with it too much.

i was looking at the scythe ninja the other day because it apprently is great and it looks cool too :) Will check out the Artic first though as i could do with save a bit of cash now.
