Sorry if this has been asked before but roughyl what speeds is everyone getting with there max dsl when downloading? my has sync'd at 8Mb but all day i have been getting download speeds as if it was a 2Mb line was going to just put this down to contention as all the kids are on holiday but even when i try downloading from a server hosted by the same ISP my downloads are still the same  anyone have any ideas?

hmmmm i get the fealing BT didnt finish the job (big supprise!) or perhaps they cap it during the day although i havent heard anything about this

Maybe you should read some of the countless other threads about max, or take a look at www.adslguide.org.uk :p

In short: Regrade causes increased sync speeds, data rate is meant to adjust within 75mins. It's not quite working correctly and can take up to 3 days to increase.

Mine started off like that, it goes up after the first day and continues to go up and then down again hehe.
I dont have a actual connection speed display on this router but using ZDnet broadband speed test its showing just under 6Mbps.
It goes up and down all the time and i dont know how accurate that test is.

right ok well i will give bt wholesale a call and its not just ISP call staff as BTW's own support staff didnt even know about this as of about 2pm today

BT Wholesale aren't there to provide end user support.

im aware of that but if their service isnt working properly then i call them
It is working - if you read the AG article posted nearly 10 days ago, it's within the BTw spec that it can take up to 3 days for the data rate to change. If it hasn't happened within three days, you contact your ISP. BTw have no obligation to help you - that's your ISPs job.

i know what BT wholesales job is, i have to deal with their support monkeys on a daily basis. I wasnt informed it would take 3 days for the datarate to change so sorry for wasting your time!
