Maximum bus speed Sata rev 3

Perhaps an odd question, and probably specific to each motherboard, but what is the maximum theoretical bus speed ?

If for example 10 devices were connected all being read at the theoretical maximum transfer speed of 6 Gb/s would the bus have the headroom ?

IIRC the max speed of a SATA-3 port is 600Mb/s (SATA 1/2 were 150/300Mb/s), so ten of them would equate 6Gb/s so I think that should be good to go (I am very tired though).

I would also think whether they were native ports or something like Gigabyte have with the Marvell ports also would make a difference

According to ASUS, the maximum data throughput on SATA Express is 1.6GB/s DMI Limited so SSD raids can be bottle necked
