Maximum HDD size for an A1181

Hey everyone,

So there is a slim flicker of hope in my quest to revive my old Macbook A1181. Sod's law saw fit to trick me into thinking my logic board was broken, when in fact all my test HDDs had intermittent faults.

Simple question - what is the maximum size HDD that I can use? Obviously so long as it is 2.5" it will fit, but will OSX (either Tiger 10.4 or Snow Leopard 10.6, if I can get my hands on a disk) recognize its full size? I was thinking either 320GB or 500GB.

I don't know about Tiger, but snow leopard will cope with 500GB as thats whats in mine at the moment (Don't quote me, but I don't believe there is the problems with large hard drives as there is in other OS's in mac OS X).

recently fitted a 500Gb to one of these make sure you get a disk without a shock censor as I believe they may cause issues.
