hi guys i brought my rig back in 2017 and my aio failed i seem to have lost my safe over clock i tried to put back to what it was but no joy temps seem very high at 85 to 90 degrees when in game
any advice as ive never tried before and done seem to be winning i have a corsair 240 aio now any help on my old rig would be appritiated

i asume so i went into bios and the aio wont monitor also i found the pump was switched off i set to auto but when i run bf2142 all temps sit at 75 to 90
If monitoring the pump was off, that shouldn't affect the pump working, just won't be monitoring, that's all.
Best way to check, after setting pump speed to 100%, is touch the radiator and feel if it is at least warm. If not, most likely the pump is dead, and needs a replacement, as coolant won't move, obviously.
If pump works, I would check if the AIO's cold plate is making good contact with the CPU (check if the thermal paste is evenly spread).
Most overclocks would be possible only if the voltage is limited to the point where it doesn't affect the desired clocks.
The main issue with 8700K, was poor TIM between the die and the IHS. Poor heat transfer. As the heat is trapped before reaching the cooler/AIO/waterblock, there's very little you can actually do, just try to fine tune the voltages.
Delidding was very popular back then, but not something I ever done/would do.
