Maximum logical displays for RX6700XT?

Hi all, wondering if anyone knows the maximum number of logical displays that can be used on an RX6700XT.

The official maximum number of physical displays is 4, however I believe this can be increased using DisplayPort MST and MST capable monitors. Linky

I found someone on Reddit who confirmed that they previously used 5 monitors with a 5700XT using MST. Linky

I currently have 4 displays connected, one for each port on the GPU. I would ideally like to increase this to 6, but I'm not sure if this is possible and would like to be certain before I invest in 2x good quality MST DP splitters.

This seems like quite a step backwards, I'm sure I was able to connect 6 displays to my PC over 15 years ago using an Radeon HD 5970! (Eyefinity anyone? I didn't dream that did I??)

Also concerningly it seems that the 9000 series (and perhaps later) no longer supports more than 4 logical displays, as indicated by the Reddit thread linked above, so I might be screwed when I upgrade too... So, any further thoughts or ideas are welcome!

What is your current CPU/motherboard? video out via USB4/TB3/4 is also a possibility, failing that as someone mentioned recently there is also DisplayLink though that is a poor substitute for a proper GPU output.

My only experience with MST is via Dell monitors with built in DP daisy chain capability and that worked pretty well but I have no idea as to future support.

If it’s just for general office work. I’ve used usb to hdmi adapters that work really well. The other option is to use a universal usb c dock.
