Maximum safe vcore for 3800 x2 overclock on air?

As per the title... my rather rubbish (OC-wise) new 3800 X2 seems to need quite a bit extra on the vcore front to overclock. I've got 2350MHz on 1.475 vcore, but 2400 won't happen on 1.5 volts -dare I go any higher using an AC Freezer 64?

Depends on temperatures. I'd say 1.55 if it isnt too hot.
Well, at 1.5 vcore my load temps at 2400MHz were about 42 degrees, I've got excellent airflow across the AC 64 thanks to the CM Stacker (120mm in, 120mm out straight across the CPU socket).

How hot is too hot?

Try to keep it below 50.
OK, thanks for the info. I've never pushed the vcore before, although I've overclocked every CPU I've owned. 2.4GHz out of this one would make me happy, basically a bargain 4600...

I think I'm heading to the limit, as the jump from 2350 to 2400 seems to want quite a bit, shame really as others have done much better on less volts, just my luck!

1.65 volts! Blimey, I'll see hpow I go...

Quick question - my BIOS is set to 1.475 vcore, reporting 1.44, CPU-Z reporting 1.44, which is correct?
