I have a 50MB connection and I need to buy a new router, at the moment I'm using an old Philips SNB6500 that I found in a box somewhere
When I'm connected to it wirelessly, the speed is about 15-16MB when with a wire it's 45-50MB as it should be. The router is 802.11g/108 Mbps, should it be faster than this or is it just because it's an old, rubbish router? I'm connected at 54.0 Mbps.
I've tried fiddling with the turbo modes but then the router just starts failing entirely (probably because it's old and probably partly broken).
What I want to know is, what is the cheapest possible Netgear (I like them) router that I can get that will wirelessly support my line speed without issue?
Will the WNDR3400/3700 do the job?
