Dont know if this should be in hard drive forum or here ?
Am I right in thinking I can have 3 hard drives installed on a maximus formula.
I want 2 drives in RAID 0 and the third just as a storage drive

well yes 2 at raid 0 the other 3rd one just as storage.

just go into the raid configuration on booting up PC for the raid 0
just leave the third one alone then format it within windows etc

yes its easy, I have a raid 0 array with 2 maxtors 80gb and I got 2 Storage hdd of 250gb each one.

you config you bios in RAID mode, enter the raid array (ctrl+I I think....) and choose the 2 disk for the raid. 128k stripe work good for me.
then install you windows.... If is vista probably you dont need any drivers to load ( I dont) but if is XP you will have to type F6 during the loading of the files and insert in a floppy disk the drivers of the raid. (this one are on you DVD of the maxiums, a part that said: make disk (of something like that... :D )

yep as sixdemons check in your motherboard manual or just wait until you post screen shows up it will show the key combination to press to get into raid configuration screen on boot up.

my windows vista 64 bit does not need a press F6 for installing drivers etc
