Just ran a windows update on 8.1.

Now when it rebooted, I can't get to the BIOS. It halts on Q-Code error 79 (CSM Initialization), every time.

I have figured out a way around this error, which involves, disconnecting the
H80i Sata power and rebooting. I can get past the BIOS and halts on CPU Fan error.

I plug the H80i sata power back in and reboot, and it boots into windows. When I power down, I go back to Q-Code error 79, and have to repeat the above steps.

The H80i is running fine, no problems. The PSU is a Seasonic G 550.

Any ideas welcome.

The main fault could be something to do with the ram or O/C settings. I would uninstall the updates one by one to see which one is causing the problem and then re-install the rest.

CPU fan error is caused when the fan or pump is running at less than 600rpm. You can get around this by lowering the CPU Fan Speed Low Limit in the monitoring menu under Fan Speed Control. You can set it to Ignore/200/300/400/500/600 rpm. It has nothing to do with the actual fan speed it just changes the speed at which the warning activates.

Well today I can't get it to boot into bios at all any more. Checked RAM and CPU is still on stock. I can't get into windows to uninstall any recent updates. Can't get into bios to change boot options. No USB devices work, PC just stays powered, doing nothing. I even tried it with a new PSU, and cleared the CMOS.

I know what the CPU fan warning means, it was just a way to force the PC to boot past the Q-code 79. Now that little exploit doesn't work :(

Looking like a new motherboard I think. It's using the latest bios update for devils canyon.

Have you tried running with the bare essentials such as a single stick of ram in one slot at a time, only the O/S drive, take out the gpu and use onboard? Tried clearing cmos?
