Maximus IV extreme

Heres the funny thing with OCuk. You get a VERY marmite service. For example I ordered a 5870, same price as everyone else and saturday delivery the same price as conventional next day. Never had any issues very happy.

However some HDD's ive ordered which were used and failed straight away OCuk dont want to know. Ignored my emails to complain etc (The whole story is a whole can of worms). They did replace the failed one thoe.

So when I saw the the maximus appear at £399 I rang a distrubuter we deal with at work and they confirm they have them in stock and more coming into the country :D. They cant explain why OCuk would sell for £399.

Because people will pay for it.

What was the first letter of the distributor ? (Can't see this as being a competitor in any way :p, remove if it is)

I disagree, just because you can supply one and that one person would demand it theres no need to put a stupid premium ontop its harsh and greedy. Its like when you put SB live yesterday for a few hours you put a premium on most boards and the 2600k.

You get premiums on new products. When new stuff is released, it costs more. After awhile it drops. Its the same thing. New product released in extremely limited supply and im going to guess one of the if not the best 1155 board out there. Theres two in the country. Its not like people will be able to get hold of another one until the 17th ~. I dont consider it being greedy, only good business sense. The prime goal of a business is to make money.

its not really a huge deal....they listed a premium product at a premium price

the guy wanted it and is very happy by all accounts....if he wanted it cheaper he would

have googled it first, maybe he did? but chances are he wouldnt have got it....i paid a

premium for my rampage 3 extreme to be first to get it...its nice to feel special and

be first for once gettting new tech...

and liampope.....ocuk dont charge extra on some things to make the stuff you buy

cheaper...chances are they make plenty on it all....cause they aint cheap on most

Well your completely missing the point and concept of it, Prime goal is to make money yes of course, so do you think its acceptable to put a £100 premium on something just because its new out?

Also every 2600K sale they did on that day they made £30 on.

Its harsh and very greedy.

As other people have pointed out OCUK is a business, they want to make money. If a product is limited and the demand is greater than the supply of course they are going to charge a premium to make more profit. It's basic economics really.

If you had a product to sell personally, which you knew you could make an extra £100 on and some people were happy to pay that, would you really turn it down? :)

Hello captain un-educated. You clearly do not know a thing about business.

Here is the door.

Thankyou!

Nath please send that man a "Principles on Economics" book with free sarurday delivery.
What OCUK did was demonstrate producer surplus, to some degree. Basically, the difference between "what they COULD have charged for that Maximus board (marketprice/RRP), and what they ACTUALLY charge for that Maximus board". How are they able to do this? Simples. There are only 2 boards in the wild, thus being desirable. Early adopters are willing to pay premium prices, and the board I'm sure, is able to justify its price too to some extent.

lmao. sad, i am educated and maybe you should start and give alittle bit more back to customers, over pricing stuff and poor customer service is were your at right now. Maybe you need to get re-educated yourself along with your customer service staff.

Oh no, an ocuk hater.

Is there any reason why you are signed up to our forum if you dislike us soo much?

Well I'll answer that for you...

Some people seem to wander around with a permanent stick up their ***. If you don't like the price of the M4E, don't pay it.

In OcUK's shoes i'd have done the same.
