Maximus V Gene CPU fan header!

Does anyone know how to set the CPU_OPT header fan speeds using the FanXpert 2?

I've got case fan connected to it, as I've run out of chassis headers, but it's running full pelt and not available to control through the Asus said program.

I do not have a y splitter, but this will have to be the next option if this cannot be done!

You may need to enable the optional fan header in bios, under hardware monitoring tab.

Thanks for that, but it would seem it's already set to manual and working at full pelt, looks like a Y splitter is required.

Are both cpu fans identical PWM models? If so you could run both from the cpu fan header with a PWM splitter cable. Theese use molex power so no strain is placed on the cpu header.

I'm using a H100i which is connected to the main CPU header on the motherboard. The reason I'm using the CPU_OPT is because I have no spare headers for my remaining case fan.
