All the time.
I cannot see any where in the BIOS to do the default clock of 4GHz.

If someone out there knows, please let me. Thanks.

Have you tried using CPU-Z to monitor the core speed and leaving the pc to idle?

Did you install AI Suite 3 ?
Not the best way but just do it from that?

Set speedstep and c1e, and all other c state power saving settings to enabled manually. Auto on some Asus boards doesn't enable them. Make sure you are on the latest bios too.

There is a common overclocking option for this board that allows you to run the processor at 4.2, 4.4 and 4.6Ghz.

It's called 'CPU Level Up' and is found underneath the individual core multiplier settings on the first screen of the 'Advanced' Bios settings. If you change it back to Auto, it might go back to the stock clock speeds.
