Maxtor transfer speeds a tad slow?

Hello HDD people, got a little quirk here.

Heres a picture to show what I mean.

Transfer speed is a bit slow yeah? (This isn't the system drive.)

So whats up with the Maxtor? Its about 1-2 months old. And doesn't get much action, it's just used for storage.

Yes, as it's CPU intensive. Solution is to delete IDE controller in device manager and reboot. Check the DMA settings, it should say DMA 4 or 5. Usually if Windows error correction is quite high it reduces DMA mode. No suprise, it is a Maxtor.

hmm didn't notice two drives there, but obvious speed difference between the two, except CPU levels are similar. Here's speed test with the same util on a WD 3200KS (ATI 3200 chipset, ULI 1575 SATA)
