What is it about the Asrock dual vsta that will make it incompatible with later dx10 cards?

The reason I ask this is because it was suggested on this forum that the 8800 gt &gtx were not compatible, and I wondered whether there was a possibility of this being so with other directx 10 cards?

Probably the neutered PCI-E 16X slot that only runs at 4X, but I didn't see the thread.
