I'm building a new machine, as my current AthlonXP1800+ one is somewhat old and naff. When i built that it was pretty top spec, it's been a while since i've looked into pc hardware, so if i could get any opinions on problems with what i've arrived at, that'd be swell.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600
Asus P5B Deluxe
Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C5 Dual Channel Kit
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI
Antec NeoHE 550W Modular ATX2.0 PSU
Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB 3200KS SATA-II 16MB Cache x 2
Viewsonic VX922 x 2
Scythe Ninja
Antec P180 Advanced Super Midi Tower Case

many thanks!

Thanks chaps!

OK so, in my usual genius style, I actually ordered some of the bits a few minutes before I made the original post. The only bit I ordered that got commented on was the hard drives though, are the Seagate models you mention that much better than the WD ones that it's worth me cancelling/modifying the order?

Am definitely going to look into the RAM issue some more, thanks.

OK, i shall trawl the forum (some more, have already done this somewhat, and of course been to the usual suspects (toms, anand, [h] etc)) and research the mobo a bit more, thanks for the heads up.

As for the sound card, I was thinking of just doing a straight transplant of my old Creative Live! 5.1 card. I know it's like 5 years old, but sound is sound right, and as I'm only going to be playing it through the same set of 5 year old Creative 5.1 speakers, is there any need for a new sound card?
