Could someone point me in the direction of some (preferably free) guides/tutorials for Maya 8.5?

I'm a complete novice and have never used and kind of graphics modelling packages before so something that covers the basics would be great.

Very useful if you're already competent with the software and need specific help with something, but for a beginner it's much better to look for/watch video tutorials that put all that stuff into a context. Another good site is
