Why does every one treat valentines day like its christmas or easter these days.
I get people constantly asking "How was your valentines day?" like you would the day after the christmas.
If you do love someone you should show it every day and not keep it all reserved for just that one day of the year imo

Ive been very patient with all this valentines day stuff but now its starting to really get on my nerves, expecally when people ask how it was like it was a special day. Its not even a public holiday ffs.

Even though i had people msging me or saying to me "happy valentines day" i think its all just got out of hand if it keeps having people asking how it was the next day  :(

Hmmm, touchy eh? :/ Maybe you need a lift? Here goes :-

There once was an ugly duckling
With feathers all stubby and brown
And the other birds said in so many words
Get out of town
Get out, get out, get out of town

And he went with a quack and a waddle and a quack
In a flurry of eiderdown
That poor little ugly duckling
Went wandering far and near
But at every place they said to his face
Now get out, get out, get out of here

And he went with a quack and a waddle and a quack
And a very unhappy tear
All through the wintertime he hid himself away
Ashamed to show his face, afraid of what others might say
All through the winter in his lonely clump of wheat
Till a flock of swans spied him there and very soon agreed
You´re a very fine swan indeed!
A swan? Me a swan? Ah, go on!
And he said yes, you´re a swan
Take a look at yourself in the lake and you´ll see
And he looked, and he saw, and he said
I am a swan! Wheeeeeeee!

I´m not such an ugly duckling
No feathers all stubby and brown
For in fact these birds in so many words said
The best in town, the best, the best
The best in town

Not a quack, not a quack, not a waddle or a quack
But a glide and a whistle and a snowy white back
And a head so noble and high
Say who´s an ugly duckling?
Not I!
Not I!

You're a swan Zip, cheer up. :D

Edit:I didnt really need to be cheered up but thanks merlin, that made me smile :p

I'm single right now, but Valentines day is always good.

Everyone is always so cheery and theres always a good buzz going around.

On any normal day, you walk down the street, ppl are gloom.
On valentines day, at least half the ppl you see are happy. Everyone is buying flowers or present for their loved ones. Call me corny, but I think its cool.

For that one day i would say it is good but you still should treat your loved one like that more then one day a year. Also why do people ask how that say was the day after its been. Its valentines day not christmas, its not like every one has had a good day and some people are really down.

Pretty much everyone i spoke to yesterday was miserable :p i think the idea of valentines day at the present is pretty stupid, why should i be forced by social convention to give my girlfriend roses/chocolates etc on this one day of the year? If i feel the need to do that isnt it better i do it of my own free will on a day of my own choosing? We don't celebrate a lot of other saint's days in this country, why should this one be any different.

mine was pretty damn fine tbh, I went to my girlfriends and she cooked me a meal. She then prepared a bath for me with candles all over the bathroom, we then went to bed and spent the night there :)... Can't get much better than that if you ask me.

It's pretty much how the card/flower shops wan't you to feel so that you end up buying a card for someone anyway. Thing is the number of younger women/teenagers who were really into all of this actually shocked me more than I thought it would.

It's all about commercialism and as far as I'm concerned the general public have been conned into believing it matters. It also seems that if you don't believe in it then you must be some sad pathetic loser rather than someone who hasn't been conned. If I was with a woman who deserved to be treated like that then I'd do it throughout the year on my own terms, not what some shop manager/media thinks.

:)

I dont have a problem with the commericalism of it...Valentines day is a handy reminder to kick you into check and make you look at your relationship..

Anyone whos been in a serious relationship knows how easy things can get into a lull..and its silly to suggest treating every day like valentines day, that just doesnt happen in the real world..so valentines day is a good chance to remind you to make things special.
