Mayhems X1 growth problem

I've got a minor growth issue in my loop, I haven't touched it for years. I only noticed as I finally (after over 3 years) decided it was time to delid my 8700k. :) Got an extra 200mhz and 20c lower temps so was worth it.

I did empty the loop, flushed it a few times with distilled water and put some new Mayhems X1 in there but after that I noticed there's what looks like some minor growth in the cpu/gpu blocks (both copper).

Mayhems X1 says premixed so I don't think I needed to add anything to stop this? maybe I should have added a silver coil when I first put it together?

I really don't want to start taking blocks apart and cleaning them with a tooth brush, is there anything I can run through it that would do a decent job of cleaning it? Honestly it's not *that* bad so will just leave it if it requires pulling the whole thing apart, especially since the temps are really good.

Could be because it’s contaminated with some of the old mix. It’s very rare to hear X1 causing issues. What was in there before?

…and no you don’t need to add anything to X1. It’s premixed.

Everything was new so it didn't have anything before X1. I think I ran some water / white vinegar through it to clean out the flux and other junk when I first made it but that was it.

Maybe some reaction with the vinegar, I guess.
Using/used Mayhems X1 for a while, no issues.
If the blocks are cooper, not nickel plated, the block eventually changes colour, regardless of what you do, but nothing that even looks like growth.

Mayhems say you must neutralise the vinegar (or any type of acid) after cleaning your radiators.

It can be neutralised using a mix of baking soda and water then flush it with distilled water.

I read some people use PH test strips to check the PH of the distilled water when flushing it to make sure it's been neutralised.
